Nicknamed “New Chinatown” for its fantastic dimsum restaurants, the Inner Richmond is a diverse and primarily residential area located just north of the iconic Golden Gate Park and south of Presidio and Lake Street. It’s bordered by California Street to the north, Arguello Boulevard to the east, Park Presidio Boulevard to the west, and Fulton Street to the south. 19th Avenue serves as the line of demarcation between the Inner and Outer Richmond. It’s one of several microneighborhoods that makeup the Richmond District, which stretches for 50 blocks from Golden Gate Park and the Presidio to the University of San Francisco and the northwest corner of the city.

  • Angelo J. Rossi Playground features an indoor lap pool, dog run, children’s climbing equipment, baseball diamonds, and tennis, bocce, and basketball courts, and plenty of space to run around.
  • The Presidio is a 1,500-acre national park site on the northern tip of the Inner It holds the distinction of being the oldest continuously used U.S. army post with Spanish Colonial and Georgian-style military buildings that date back to 1848. It features scenic trails and bird watching spots surrounded by creeks, native plants, and cypress and eucalyptus trees. Highlights include the Walt Disney Family Museum, Yoda Fountain, Baker Beach, Crissy Field, and Fort Point.
  • The San Francisco Columbarium and Funeral Home, also called The Columbarium, is housed in a historic Neoclassical building with exquisite stained glass windows and other ornate details. Designed by British architect Bernard J. Cahill, the Columbarium was once part of the Odd Fellows Built in 1897 and opened to the public in 1898, it serves as a final resting place for thousands with some urns and niches dating back to the late 1800s.
  • The University oF San Francisco features a 55-acre hilltop campus with beautiful pathways and sweeping views of the Richmond District.
